INFORMAL KINSHIP CARE ENROLLMENT
Board Policy
The Superintendent of the Garrett County Board of Education shall allow a child who is a resident of this state to attend a Garrett County public school (pending other applicable laws and regulations) if the child lives full-time with a relative providing informal kinship care in the county and the relative verifies the hardship and kinship care relationship through a sworn affidavit. The sworn affidavit shall be accompanied by supporting documentation of the serious hardship(s), along with, when possible, the names, addresses and phone numbers of any authority legally authorized to reveal information verifying the affidavit.
